Enjaian, 32, was seen shortly after 9 a.m. carrying a rifle with a scope and firing from the window of a home in a neighborhood near 98th Avenue and Interstate 580.
At one point, he was spraying obscene graffiti on homes and cars including a penis on a car parked on the street.
While police were searching for him, officers reported gunfire striking near them, but none were hit. Eventually they fired back.
The suspect was transported to a hospital and is listed in serious condition. The rifle has been recovered by the police.
