The Wounded Blue announces its “Wounded Blue Christmas” campaign for injured law enforcement officers children.
Lt. Randy Sutton, Founder of the national non profit organization that assists injured and disabled law-enforcement officers across America has shared with lawofficer.com the organizations Christmas campaign of helping the families of police officers injured in the line of duty, make this Christmas a special time of year.
“Christmas can be a magical time of year, but can also be particularly stressful for the families of officers who have been injured in the line of duty. Very often financial turmoil follows injury. Over the last several years,The Wounded Bluehas made Christmas a happier time by donating $500 for Christmas gifts for children of affected law enforcement families and this year we hope to help even more families.”
Sutton says that business’s and private parties throughout the country are helping to make this campaign a success.
“It’s amazing how this time of year seems to touch so many people. American’s are exceedingly generous people, and when someone is in need, especially the children of law-enforcement officer, who are facing tough circumstances, contributing to a cause such as this seems to bring out the best in folks.” Said Sutton
Last year more then 350 Law Enforcement Officers were shot and thousands more were seriously injured in assaults and car accidents. these injuries can have long-term effects not just on the physical health of the officer, but also on the financial health of the officers family. Wounded Blue has helped more than 14,000 law-enforcement officers affected by injury in the last five years.
