National Testing Network

The Cathedral City Police Department is seeking to establish an ongoing eligibility list for the position of Police Officer Recruit. All candidates must take the FrontLine National exam through National Testing Network.

Based upon the information presented in the application, along with your NTN scores, a limited number of candidates who possess qualifications most pertinent to the position will be invited to participate in the selection process,

NTN scores must have been issued within the last 6 months from the date when you submitted your application with the City.

The resulting eligibility list will be in effect for six(6) months.

Salary Information: $18.93 per hour

Department Information: The Cathedral City Police Department is currently approved for 48 sworn officers and an additional 24 non-sworn positions. The Police Department currently provides law enforcement services to 54,596 permanent residents with an additional 17,000 seasonal residents and visitors.

Job Requirements


Age : At least 20.5 years of age

US Citizen : US citizen or permanent resident alien who is eligible for, and has applied for citizenship, prior to appointment

High School Grad/GED : Required

Valid CALIFORNIA State Driver’s License : Class C required

Ability to Read/Speak English : Required

Additional Requirements : Good physical fitness and mental health, as required by POST standards.
Must be able to work a variety of hourly shifts, including holidays and weekends.
