The Mill Creek Police Department is seeking to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer (Lateral and Entry Level)! All candidates must take the FrontLine National exam as well as the PAT through National Testing Network to be considered further in the hiring process.

Salary Information: $5,695-$7,633 per month

Area Information: Situated in Snohomish County approximately 20 miles north of Seattle and 10 miles south of Everett, the City of Mill Creek, Washington, is a picturesque community nestled just inland from the Puget Sound, north of Lake Washington, and west of the Cascade Mountains. Academy Certification : Certification from the Washington State Law Enforcement Training Commission
Prior Experience : No prior experience required for Entry-Level applicants.
Necessary Certifications :
- Must have and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and an insurable driving record or obtain within one month of hire.
- Certification from the Washington State Law Enforcement Training Commission or other state-approved certifying agency or the ability to obtain state certification within six months of employment.
- Note: this position will require yearly certification, qualification, and/or training on equipment and procedures utilized by the department. Individuals must meet all ongoing certification, qualification, and/or training requirements throughout their employment in this position.
- Current first aid certification required or ability to obtain within the first year of appointment.
Additional Requirements :
- Ability to pass a stringent background investigation.
- Must meet required physical/medical standards and all Civil Service requirements.
- A minimum of two years of law enforcement experience and successful completion of probationary period with the Mill Creek Police Department is required for officers to be eligible for special appointments such as Field Trainer, Detective, School Resource, K-9, Traffic Unit, Corporal, etc.

After oral board interviews are conducted on an as-needed basis and an eligibility list is presented to the Civil Service Commission for certification. Vacancies are filled by Civil Service “rule of five” with the top five candidates forwarded to the appointing authority for background investigation and selection as vacancies occur. Applicants moving forward in the process will be required to successfully pass a secondary oral board, background investigation, polygraph and medical and psychological evaluations.
