Description

Starting at $26.94 / hour. Additional $2.00 / hour shift differential for hours worked outside of business hours (7am-5pm).

Deputies on Patrol work 10 hour shifts four a total of eight days in a two-week period allowing you to enjoy three days off every week. We cover the clock 24 hours a day and every four months, shift assignments are changed. Time and a half overtime is paid for all hours worked over 80. All uniforms and equipment are provided. A take home patrol vehicle is provided to Deputies living within Grand County. Patrol Deputies are allotted an hour each shift for physical fitness time pending calls for service. There are frequent overtime shifts available through DUI enforcement, boat patrol, bicycle patrol, and Forest Service special assignments including snowmobile, ATV and Razor patrols. Deputies have numerous opportunities for internal advancement including becoming an agency instructor in fields like firearms, driving, arrest control and SFST. Assignment in SWAT (Middle Park Emergency Response Team (ERT)) and assignment in Police Canine units are also available for those pursuing their career. Patrol Deputies have the ability to begin, learn and advance their careers at the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.
