A Columbus (GA) Police Officer was shot Friday afternoon at a home.
The shooting suspect has barricaded himself inside the home where the shooting took place.

Authorities from the Columbus Police Department and the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office are on the scene surrounding the home where the shooting took place, as they try to determine if anyone else is inside.
The officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Columbus Mayor Teresa Pike Tomlinson stated that the bullet was stopped by his vest. She said the officer suffered bruising and soreness.
