Glenn Wilson

Glenn’s personal and professional life has been centered in, on and around the water. Prior to his career in law enforcement, he was a competitive swimmer, avid SCUBA diver and served the City of Clearwater for 6 years as an ocean lifeguard on Clearwater Beach. He was hired by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 1988 as a patrol deputy and has since served the majority of his career in the Special Operations Division as a Marine Enforcement Officer and field trainer in both the Marine Unit and Environmental Lands Unit. Following his promotion to Sergeant, he supervised deputies in Patrol, Field Training, Environmental Lands, and Strategic Enforcement units and is currently assigned to Child Protection Investigations. Glenn has served as diver, team trainer and is currently the team leader of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Underwater Search & Recovery Team. He was instrumental in developing and implementing a water survival course that was required for all agency law enforcement new hires.
Glenn has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Florida. He is a certified Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor, Florida Department of Law Enforcement Physical Fitness Trainer and a Cooper Institute trained Law Enforcement Fitness Specialist. He holds a USCG Master Captain’s license and is a certified SCUBA instructor. Additionally, he is currently an adjunct instructor with the St. Petersburg College, teaching numerous in-service and advanced training courses.

Glenn is the lead instructor for the Water Survival Tactics course offered through RAD Training Inc.
