PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) — A pack of coyotes is being blamed for a crash involving a Phoenix police motorcycle officer.
Peoria police spokesman Jay Davies says the 41-year-old officer was on his way to work about 6 a.m. when he swerved to avoid hitting the coyotes.
The officer went off the road, flew over the handle bars and landed in a ravine on top of some boulders in the area of 107th Avenue and Beardsley Road.
The officer was flown by medical helicopter to a local hospital for treatment of cuts and fractures.
