About the Job

Job Description

The incumbent serves as an instructor and course developer in the following firearms related course areas: Firearms Safety, Firearms Nomenclature, Assembly, Disassembly and Maintenance of Firearms, Marksmanship Concepts (Basic & Advanced), Reactive Shooting Techniques, Sub-Machinegun Techniques, Survival Shooting Techniques, Criminal Investigator Techniques, Flight Deck Officer Techniques, Non-Lethal Training Ammunition Exercises and Shooting Techniques.  

Provides high quality training to criminal investigators and law enforcement officers from a wide variety of different Federal participating organizations.

Designs, develops and instructs course materials in the field of law enforcement; initiates content changes, developing different approaches and methods of instruction; and initiates any other changes needed to improve the course which leads to the achievement of course objectives.

Plans and develops own lesson plans and uses diverse instructional methods in order to present law enforcement subjects in classrooms and during practical application sessions.  
Performs liaison contact with other agencies concerning course curriculum.
  • You must successfully pass a background investigation.
  • You will be required to undergo pre-employment and periodic drug screening.

  • You must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Selective Service registration.

  • Must be able to pass and maintain FLETC trainer certification.

 



Additional Details

GS-1801-12:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service instructing any type of law enforcement curriculum and also experience as a sworn law enforcement officer/agent (with full arrest authority) in the prevention, detection, apprehension, and investigation of felony and/or misdemeanor violations of Federal, state, local, tribal, or military laws.


Salary Information:$68,809.00 to $89,450.00 / Per Year
