Georgia Deputy Hurt in Crash Dies

He was responding to a domestic call when the accident happened

UNION COUNTY, Ga. -- A Union County deputy who critically injured in a crash last week has died. Authorities say Deputy Derrick Whittle was responding to a domestic call when the accident happened.

Authorities say the single-car crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. They say Whittle ran off the road and hit a tree.
