Patrol Micro-Robot
ReconRobotics, Inc.’s new Recon Scout Throwbot LE is an affordable micro-robot designed to help patrol officers assess potentially dangerous situations. The Throwbot LE is specifically designed to mitigate the everyday risks that patrol officers encounter during interrupted robberies, confined space searches, welfare checks and domestic disturbances. The Throwbot LE is less than 6 inches long, 1.1 lbs. and can be thrown up to 50 feet. Once deployed, it’s remotely operated using a small, handheld operator control unit that also receives video from the robot. This video can alert patrol officers to hidden threats, giving the officers time to assess the situation and react. The Throwbot LE kit is packaged in a small MOLLE bag that can be stowed in a patrol car for immediate use.

Next-Gen Handcuffs
Tuff Kuffs were invented by a career cop who, after hearing of fellow police officers being killed while attempting to handcuff subjects, knew that there must be a better way to secure the hands of those arrested or detained. After many years of engineering, research and development, Tuff Kuffs was patented. The design allows officers to turn or twist the handcuffs to secure the hands in the front or back, and over and under the opposite forearm. This design makes it virtually impossible for a suspect to grab and fight with an officer’s weapon. Tuff Kuffs feature 100% surgical-grade stainless steel, key access on both sides and adjustable fitting for different-sized wrists.
